Hardwired for Malfunction

So, you'd think I'd find shit like this easier, as a writer myself. Or that I'd have done more stuff like this in the past?

But the truth is, up until literally yesterday, it just never occurred to me that Dreamwidth might be a place to create an account? I dunno, my journey into the various online communities which I now find myself to be a part of was strange and fairly convoluted.

Is it bad that sometimes I feel cheated? Ten years ago - let alone fifteen, twenty - I'd have given my teeth to know about stuff like this. But instead, after a long and lonely decade, I found my way to fandom by the back door.

At this point, is it too late? Have all those ships set sail? Maybe. But I've never been one for letting my late arrival to any particular party stop me. I'm perennially here after the cutting of the cake. Sliding in when the lights are already low, and the social circles well established.

Anyway, that's me. Angsty metaphors, always arriving after the rush.
